Divercity (an initiative carried out by iMIND) is a network of inclusive venues for individuals with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDDs), such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These venues have undergone neurodiversity-awareness training in the form of videos explaining the struggles neurodivergent individuals can face, and some quick and easy tips to make their space more inclusive. The venues that become members of Divercity are listed on an app, for neurodivergent people (and others) to see.
As science communications officer at iMIND, I am involved in this initiative mostly through content creation: editing videos, managing social media (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn), contributing to the writing of the press kit, promoting the network and its benefits.
The first establishments open to the public joining Divercity were recruited by a team of 10 ambassadors, 6 of which were interviewed for iMIND to speak about their experience. My contribution was to edit their interviews.
